Renewable Energy

Solar Panels and Wind Turbines

The United States currently relies heavily on coal, oil, and natural gas for its energy. There are many types of renewable resources such as wind and solar energy that will never run out. Sunlight or solar energy can be used directly to heat up pools, generating electricity, and for hot water heating.

Sunlight also helps plants to grow, which is caused by biomass. Biomass can be used to produce electricity, transportation fuels, or chemicals. This is another way we can get our energy by using the help of sunlight.

Geothermal energy

Geothermal energy is heat from the earth. This is a clean and sustainable energy source. Geothermal energy is used to generate electricity by steam rotating in a turbine that activates a generator, which produces electricity. This type of energy allows a variety of uses, including electric power production, and the heating and cooling of buildings.

Ocean Energy

Ocean energy provides energy from the ocean. The sun also warms the surface of the ocean more than the ocean depths, creating a temperature difference that can be used as an energy source. Ocean energy is carried by ocean waves, tides, salinity, and ocean temperature differences. This energy can help provide energy to power homes, transport, and industries.

Bioenergy, geothermal, and ocean energy all have the power to transport energy from heat by the sun. All three of these are very good resources which help with a clean and sustainable energy source.
